    You can’t get a much cooler place to stay than a traditional Cycladic cave villa! Offering sensational views of the bay and natural port of Milos this spacious property covers 40 square meters. It boasts a very comfortable master bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen, a private bathroom, and a stylish living room. Just 7 minutes from both the airport and port, the property offers privacy, tranquility, and sensational views. It also has a lovely swimming pool to cool off in during the heat of the day, and a wonderful outdoor seating area to enjoy the beautiful sunsets the island is famous for.

Situated close to the town’s best bars and restaurants, a stay here also puts you close to its main tourist attractions, too.

Situated in Paliochori, this outstanding hotel features large family rooms that have a flat-screen TV, a private bathroom, and a patio that showcases tremendous sea views. For your convenience, there is a restaurant on site that serves up a delicious range of Meditteranean delights, as well as a sauna, fitness centre, and lovely garden. It is also located just 90 metres from the beach, so you can go for a swim any time you feel like it!

    Most people who visit the Greek Island of Milos do so because they want to enjoy the beach. This is why many of the best hotels in Milos and other accommodation providers are situated on the shoreline. But there is more to the island than just sand and surf, so if you are looking for a more immersive experience you will need to consider carefully where you want to stay.

    There are a number of fabulous neighbourhoods in Milos that are rich in history, architecture, and culture, as well as an interesting range of other tourist attractions, eateries, and shops.

    For first time visitors, Adamas is one of the best places to stay in Milos. As a charming seaside village, it is known for its great beaches, excellent museums, and rich, archaeological history. There are also some fantastic boat trip opportunities from here, too.

    Another great area to consider is Pachaina, especially if you are on a budget. A fascinating fishing village, it offers a wonderful insight into the local way of life. Accommodation in Milos tends to be much cheaper here as well, despite this area hosting some wonderful beaches.

    Families should consider basing themselves in Pollonia, on the northeastern corner of the island. The beach is incredible here and offers plenty of opportunities for diving, swimming, and snorkelling, whilst there are plenty of family-friendly cafes and restaurants to explore.

    Finally, if you are looking for where to stay in Milos for nightlife, then Plaka Milou is where it’s at. The capital of Milos, it is the centre of all the action and features a number of excellent, bars, restaurants, nightclubs, and terrific shopping too.

    Now you know roughly what each neighborhood has to offer, let’s take a look at each of them in more detail. Whether you’re looking for an apartment, studio, villa, or hotel inMilos, I’ve listed the best of each area below.

    1. Adamas – Where to Stay in Milos for your First Visit

    Adamas, Milos 1

    Adamas, or Adamantas as it is locally referred to, is both the biggest and most lively village in Milos. Home to some 1300 people this fabulous seaside village is the main port of Milos.

    Well known for its incredible seafood, as well as the fantastic scenic views, this historic village was first established in 1835 by Sfakian refugees. Possessing a rich, archaeological history that is presented in a number of very good museums here, the island also has charming streets and alleyways, as well as some notable architecture, too. This includes the Agia Triada church which dates back to the 17th century.

    As you would expect there are a number of great beaches in the area, which are very good for swimming, floating, and snorkeling. There is also a lovely promenade, which is based around the port, that presents a number of excellent bars and restaurants.

    If you are feeling adventurous you can even choose to go on a boat trip to a famous cove that was once a hideout for all pirates, while the opportunity to drink cocktails on a sunset cruise might appeal too.

    There are even a good few bars and nightclubs here for those who want to party into the small hours of the night. So for the first-time visitor, Adamas has it all.

    This gorgeous studio is located very near to the Port of Adamas. Offering terrific views of the sea and harbour, this fabulous beachfront property features a super comfy double bed that you will love to sleep on! It also boasts air conditioning as well as a well-equipped kitchen, and if you are keen to stay connected, you will enjoy the quality of the wi-fi reception too. Should you want to explore the area, the studio is situated near a bus station and taxi rank. There are also a number of very good restaurants and bars within easy walking distance should you want to venture out for the night.

    If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay in Milos that is easy to find, then Joy’s Apartment is a great option. Situated in the center of the port, right next door to the Ecclesiastical Museum of Milos, this apartment enjoys a convenient location. Positioned within a lovely neighborhood of beautiful alleyways and cobblestone streets, the property is also close to all the main bars, restaurants, cafes, and shops. Not far from the beach, the cosy apartment is stylishly decorated and furnished with a range of modern facilities and amenities that will make your stay a very enjoyable one.

When you are not swimming and sunbathing, you can enjoy a cooling dip in its wonderful swimming pool, or check out the fantastic views of the city from your own private balcony. Equipped with 3 bedrooms, the air-conditioned property also boasts a fully equipped kitchen for you to prepare your own meals, as well as a living room that has a flat-screen TV when you want to chill out, and a very comfortable bed when its time to sleep.

    2. Pachaina – Where to Stay in Milos on a Budget

    Located on Milos’ north coast, Pachaina is a charming, unpretentious fishing village that offers a fascinating insight into the lives of the locals.

    You won’t find any deluxe accommodation here, or fancy resorts, instead what you will get is an authentic Greek experience for a lower price than other places in Greece. Known for the quality of their fantastic gastronomy, the location here is stunning. Overlooking the Aegean and taking in the magnificent view of the island of Glaronisia you will spend many a minute staring out towards it in awe.

    Boasting a lovely white sand beach and several important settlements of the prehistoric Aegean era, there are a few hotels located around the village that offer cheap and quaint accommodation, which makes it the perfect spot for those on a budget. Be aware there isn’t much in the way of amenities or facilities here, so bring plenty of money and provisions with you if you do decide to come here.

    The Dice, Milos

    If you are looking for a quaint and charming apartment to base yourself in during your stay at Pachaina then The Dice is a great option. The perfect place to enjoy a few low-key days of rest and relaxation, the property is stylish, comfortable, and furnished with a lovely range of amenities. It also showcases delightful views of the surroundings and is close to the centre of town where all of the main shops, cafes, restaurants, and attractions are located.

    Best Studio in Pachaina: Maris Studios 4

    You will find one of the best studio rooms in Milos at the Maris Studios. There are four excellent apartments here that provide convenient access to the beach. These fully equipped, these spacious studios boast fully equipped kitchens with a gas stove, kitchen hot plates, coffee machine, and kettle, so you are well set up for you to self-cater. They also have a private bathroom with shower, as well as a lovely living room area in which to relax. For those wanting to venture out and about, many of the town’s main attractions and eateries are within easy walking distance.

    Best Hotel in Pachaina: Asterias Boutique Hotel

    If you are looking for a hotel that will live long and fondly in your memory, then the Asterias Boutique Hotel in Milos is definitely the place for you. Situated just 200 metres from Pachaina Beach, this splendid Cycladic-style complex not only gives you air conditioning, free wi-fi, and fully self-catering facilities, but it also showcases magnificent views of the sea and mountains as well. While the hotel also has a fabulous bar that serves drinks, juices, and coffees throughout the day. This is the perfect base for those backpacking Greece on a budget.

    3. Pollonia – Where to Stay in Milos for Families

    Compared to Adamas, the charming family-friendly town of Pollonia is a lot more low key, but therein lies much of its charm.

    Situated on the northeastern corner of the island, this picturesque village retains an intoxicating ambience you will instantly fall in love with.

    The main attraction here is the beach, which will entertain the whole family for hours. That said, if you want to explore the area in more detail there is plenty to see including a quaint pier that provides wonderful views of the bay and a brace of historic churches. You could even choose to hop on a ferry to the neighbouring island of Kimolos, to check out the fantastic geological formations and other great beaches there.

    There are lots of great things to explore underwater too, with the Milos Diving Center offering intro and certified diving tours of numerous spots in the Aegean.

    Wine lovers will enjoy a visit to the Kostantakis Cave Winery, which is also a hotel too, while the kids will love the playground that is in the middle of town.

    At night, Pollonia offers a collection of excellent cocktail lounges and seaside tavernas that showcase amazing coastal views.

    Best Apartment in Pollonia: Beach front studio II

    Looking for beach accommodation in Pollonia? Then this fantastic Beachfront Studio is an excellent option. Nestled within a stunning 3500 square metre Mediterranean garden, you will be on the sand within 20 seconds of leaving the front door! As you would expect the sea views the property offers are sensational, while the air conditioning, fully equipped kitchen, modern bathroom, and anatomic king size bed makes for a very comfortable and relaxed stay. The property is also a 5 minute walk to the centre of Pollonia where you will be able to enjoy all the attractions the charming town has to offer.

    Marrying a fantastic location, just 30 metres from the golden sands of Pollonia beach, with a stunning, modern, fully equipped apartment, the Melimilon Studio is the perfect place to stay in Milos. Furnished with a double bedroom, unique bathroom, and selected kitchen facilities, this fabulous property also has a wonderful terrace that showcases marvellous views of the surrounding area. The nearby bakery is somewhere you will love, whilst the town also has a diving centre close by, as well as a car hire agency in case you want to explore further afield.

    Best Villa in Pollonia: Villa Gallis

    This villa has it all! Overlooking the lovely village of Pollonia, every room here features either a balcony or terrace that showcases wonderful views of the Aegean Sea. Beautifully decorated with beamed ceilings and built-in beds, the spacious air-conditioned units include a flat-screen satellite TV, refrigerator, and bathroom which comes with a shower. The villa also has a fantastic swimming pool, as well as a sun terrace which you will want to spend a lot of time relaxing on. As it offers free WiFi, you will be able to stay connected all throughout your stay as well.

    4. Plaka Milou – Where to Stay in Milos for Nightlife

    Plaka is the capital of Milos and is by far the best place on the island to go for nightlife. A lively, yet quaint town that enjoys a picturesque location atop a hill, the area has lots of great bars, restaurants, and nightclubs to enjoy, that are open late.

    But there is a lot more to this wonderful town than just food, drink, and dancing, and if you do make the effort to explore it you will discover an area rich in history and traditional Cycladic architecture.

    You will also find a warren of twisty, winding alleyways as well as impressive buildings like the Venetian Kastro (“Castle”) of Milos and the magnificent Panagia Korfiatissa, a Metropolitan church that was dedicated to the Virgin Mary. If you are into culture, the archaeological and the folklore museum should be of interest to you too, whilst beach lovers will also enjoy the swimming and snorkelling opportunities at Plathiena beach.

    The eclectic mix of shops here will provide you with plenty of opportunity for souvenir shopping, whilst one of the major highlights of the island is the sunset views it showcases against the Gulf of Milos, from its lofty hilltop position.

    Contained within a gorgeous 1800s mansion this apartment enjoys one of the best facades of all accommodation in Milos. It is a very cosy place that provides a direct view of the sunset, so you will definitely want to capture that spectacular moment from the comfort of your private veranda. Situated just a two-minute walk from the centre of town, the villa puts you close to the action. That said it is still quite private, so you won’t be subjected to too much in the way of loud noise. What you will be able to do however is enjoy some quality time in the onsite Jacuzzi. There are also some terrific restaurants within easy walking distance that give you plenty of options for places to eat.

    Another property that showcases spectacular views of the famous sunsets of Milos Island, as well as the entrance of Adama’s bay; this apartment is located on the upper floor of a spectacular 19th-century building. This lovely 22 square meters studio is small but perfectly formed. The main room features a comfortable double bed, while the bathroom has a toilet and shower facilities.

    Best Hotel in Plaka Milou: Plaka Suites

    For the sheer beauty of the Aegean views, it offers you aren’t going to want to leave this hotel! Situated less than a mile from Plathiena Beach, every unit here comes with a private bathroom that offers complimentary toiletries you will love. They also have a kitchen with a fridge and an oven for you to prepare your own meals. In addition, the living area is a very comfortable space to relax, especially if the air conditioning is on, and you are using free wi-fi. Should you wish to venture out and about, all the most notable sights and attractions of the main town centre are just a short walk away.
