It’s also got pretty much amazing vibes from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. Did anyone say free pisco sours on Friday nights? Well, that’s what you’ll be getting here. Chill vibes basically. You’ll wanna rebook. Oh and we love the free Spanish lessons going on here, too.

There’s an outdoor swimming pool, which is definitely one of the many things that makes this one of the best hostels in Peru. The rooftop terrace is cool, too. This hostel is in EASY walking distance to nearby bars and clubs which makes it a good one if you wanna hit the town. Banana’s Adventure tho… what?

You can probs tell from the name, but this is another Arequipa backpackers hostel. And it’s one of the best hostels in Peru for solo travellers. It’s basically a big house that feels like you’re just hanging out with mates. Think chill lounges and hammocks in the leafy cactus-filled garden.

One thing that definitely helps is the super friendly owners. They make things VERY easy here. Like, if you arrive knackered from a night bus and your room’s not ready they’ll let you shower and give you a decent hot breakfast. Much appreciated.

Wild Rover Backpackers Hostel

Here’s a top hostel in Cusco that describes themselves as “fun and friendly” – and TBH we agree. The bar here is pretty poppin’ and pretty much perfect for meeting other travellers. That’s definitely one perk of this best hostel in Peru for solo travellers, but there’s MORE too…

There’s a lot going on here. Like salsa classes, quiz nights, pub crawls, and a load of other things. The beds here are decent too: they’re pod style so you can get a comfy night’s sleep. The private rooms have balconies too, which is pretty dang cool if you ask us.

We love how close this Arequipa backpackers hostel is to the Plaza de Armas, just a couple of blocks. Nice. This place is a good option if you’re gonna be stepping off a night bus or whatever since they’re very welcoming at reception for bus-wearied backpackers.

One of the best cheap hostels in Peru too, this one has budget room rates, a free breakfast, GOOD hot showers and a cheap laundry service. What more could you want if you’re travelling on a shoestring? It’s a family owned place so it’s got a pretty homely feel as well.

Aside from being one of the coolest hostels in Lima, it’s also right opposite Lima’s Art Museum. If you’re a couple who’s into art and culture then you’re gonna love that. And as the cherry on top, this hostel won the award in 2017 as one of the most popular hostels in Lima. Nice one!

We’d definitely recommend staying here only if you’re SUPER into partying, loud music till the early hours, drinking games, and basically getting your crunk on pretty much the whole time. The walls are thin and if you plan on sleeping, well… good luck, we say, good luck.

And if you wanted a slice of this whilst staying in a private room? You’ll be happy to know that this is one of the best hostels in Peru with private rooms. Seriously nice. And in the evening, come down from your room to make friends with other travellers in the bar at happy hour.

Yep. They’re pretty rustic, since the building is like 500 years old or something, but if you love the idea of staying in a heritage building then you’ll love it. There’s also a pretty good atmosphere going on at this top hostel in Cusco, chilled and good for meeting other travellers.

You can learn to salsa here if you want, go on a walking tour, stuff like this, but there’s also a free pisco sour night going on here which we are fans of. The bar here has foosball, too, which is always a good icebreaker. Decent, in a word.

Best Cheap Hostels in Peru – Hitchhikers Cusco Hostel

This place is CHEAP. It’s one of the best cheap hostels in Peru, so if you’re on a tight budget, come here. It’s set in like a big old house with original features like wooden floors and stone walls. If you’re into all that you’ll love it at this Cusco backpackers hostel.

It’s a chilled, calm, quiet sorta place to stay. Don’t be expecting to party till the break of dawn at this hostel. But you can get to loads of stuff in the city just by walking. Perks include a free breakfast and a FREE pickup service, which we’re into.

Seriously, how could somewhere called Sunset House NOT be for couples? The romance is in the NAME, people. But, um, apart from the name, this hostel is a pretty cute place to stay. It’s cosy, modern and set in an old renovated house in Cusco. We approve.

The view from the roof terrace of all the tiled rooftops going down the hill… it’s all pretty dreamy at this Cusco backpackers hostel. It also helps if you’re a social couple ’cause it really IS cosy here.

We’re also saying so because it’s a super chill place. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed, which is good if you just get down to whatever it is you do work-wise. The restaurant is very tasty and very cheap. And if you want to use it, there’s access to the pool across the street. Bonus.

Lucky your house? Lucky your house… what? Despite sounding like an unfinished sentence, this top hostel in Puno is a friendly place set in a cosy space. The atmosphere is really nice. There’s Netflix in the common room, the staff are SUPER lovely.

It’s one of the best hostels in Peru with private rooms. We’re not saying that for the decor (leopard print bedsheets, anyone?) but for the general warm and homely feel of them. So if you’re a couple or someone who just wants some privacy when you’re backpacking in Puno, stay here. It’s great! And cheap!

This Lima backpackers hostel is set in what is pretty much a family home, so it’s a pretty warm and welcoming place to stay. Here you’ll find one of the best hostels in Peru with private rooms. It’s been V nicely done, seriously. Super nice tiles, traditional homely decor… we like it.

The staff are super nice and will help you with anything you might need. The rooms MAY be simple (and clean), but this is a pretty authentic stay. Probably because it’s a family business. They don’t speak very much English so you might also wanna brush up on your Spanish!
